Attorney Bios

Michael L. Zevitz, Esquire

Mike joined the firm in July 1993 and is a Shareholder and Managing Attorney for the Judicial Foreclosure Department in the corporate office located in Overland Park, Kansas. He is currently admitted to practice law in Missouri and Kansas. He obtained his B.A. in Economics from the University of Kansas in 1987. He obtained his law degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska in 1990.

Mike has concentrated his practice of law in the areas of real estate finance and mortgage foreclosure since 1993. He is a noted speaker at various industry conferences and an author in regional and national publications. Mike was recognized as a “Best Lawyer in Kansas City” for Mortgage Banking Foreclosure Law in Ingram’s magazine in 2010-2012.

Daniel A. West, Esquire

Dan joined the firm in May 2000 and is a Shareholder and Managing Attorney over the St. Louis, Missouri operation. He is currently licensed to practice law in Missouri and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and the Federal District of Kansas. He obtained his B.A. in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1994. He obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997.

Dan has concentrated his practice of law representing secured creditors in bankruptcy and related litigation, primarily in the Eastern District of Missouri since 1997. He is a noted speaker at various industry conferences and an author in regional and national publications.

Douglas A. Hick, Esquire

Doug joined the Firm in March 1998 and is a Shareholder and Managing Attorney for the Non-Judicial Foreclosure Department in the corporate office in Overland Park, KS. He is currently licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas. He obtained his B.S.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986.  He obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1993.

Doug has concentrated his practice of law representing secured creditors in the areas of real estate finance and mortgage foreclosure. He is a frequent speaker at various industry conferences and noted author in regional and national publications. Prior to obtaining his law degree, Doug spent four years with a residential loan servicing company where he gained an in depth knowledge of loan servicing and acquisition.

Blair T. Gisi, Esquire

Blair joined the Firm in July 2012 and is a Shareholder and Managing Attorney for the Kansas Foreclosure Department and the Loss Mitigation Department in the corporate office in Overland Park, KS.  He is currently admitted to practice law in Kansas and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. He obtained his B.A. in English from the University of Kansas in 2006. He obtained his law degree from University of St. Thomas in 2009.

Blair’s practice focuses on judicial foreclosure and creditors’ rights litigation. Blair has successfully prosecuted contested foreclosures from motion practice, at trial, and the Kansas Court of Appeals.
